Summer Art Camps 2011
Plymouth Community Arts Council offers a variety of summer art camps each year. From traditional art camps to themed camps and performing arts camps, PCAC can help turn long summer days into art filled adventures for children of all ages!
Traditional Art Camps
Pottery Camp | Ages 5-12
Experiment with clay, learn various sculpting and painting techniques and create unique treasures each week. Even work on the potters wheel! Class exhibit at the end of the week. Instructor: Jeff Burda

Drawing and Painting Camp| Ages 5-12
A great exploratory camp for the young artist. Discover new materials and media and experiment with innovative techniques. Class exhibit at the end of the week. Instructor: Rachel VanCampenhout

Painting Camp| Ages 5-12
For those who want more in depth instruction on the art of acrylics, watercolors, and other painting methods. Colorful and fun projects for all ages. Class exhibit at the end of the week. Instructor: Jeff Burda

Drawing Camp| Ages 5-12
Like to draw? Pen & pencil, pastels, charcoals are some of the drawing tools campers will discover in this specialized camp. Class exhibit at the end of the week.

Animation and Cartooning| Ages 5-12
Learn to tell stories with your doodles! Campers will discover various cartooning & animation techniques in this extra creative camp! Class exhibit at the end of the week. Instructor: Jeff Burda

Themed Art Camps
Construction/Destruction Art | Ages 5-12
A new camp for kids who like to build things! We will spend the week learning the structural arts by creating with legos, toothpicks, cardboard, string, food, and other innovative building materials. Instructor: Jeff Burda

Slimy Arts and Science | Ages 5-12
Ooey, gooey, slimy art projects! An entertaining camp for kids who don’t mind getting a little messy. Experiment with colorful science projects and make a new slime every day! Instructor: Jeff Burda/ Kayla Denny

Diva Art Camp | Ages 5-12
Bring out your inner Diva! This new camp will celebrate being a girl with innovative projects and creative art activities.

Camp Earth | Ages 5-12
Natural elements will be the subject or media for all of the creations in this new camp. Learn to make fabulous projects out of recycled materials and items from your own backyard! Instructor: Rachel Van Campenhout/ Lisa Howard

My First Art Camp (Appropriate for rising K, 1st & 2nd graders)
Celebration Art Camp | Ages 4-6
Each day we will learn about a different country, or culture and one of it’s celebrations. We will make decorations, gifts, clothing or art to get ready for a big party at the end of camp! Instructor: Lisa Howard

Little Artist Studio Camp | Ages 4-6
Everyday will start with a short storybook to set the theme for the class. Fun art projects in a variety of media (clay, collage, paint, wearables, edible art & more) will follow to go with the day’s theme. Each day will also include a themed snack. Instructor: Lisa Howard.

Musical Theatre Camp | Ages 8-12
Get your Glee on! Instructors will give campers a taste of the Broadway stage. Blocking, vocal techniques and performing tips will be taught in this marvelous, musical camp. Short production for friends and family on the last day of camp.

Additional Information and Forms:
- LUNCH CARE is available for families looking for an all day camp. If you are interested in having your camper in morning camp as well as afternoon camp we are happy to provide lunch care. During lunch care your camper will enjoy lunch they have brought from home, as well as have time to play games, draw and participate in other fun activities until it is time to go to the afternoon camp. Lunch will be supervised by our Art Camp Counselors. Cost: $5 per day
- BEFORE and AFTER CARE is available with advance notification. Early drop off at 8:30 am—$3 per day and late pick up at 5:00 pm- $5 per day.
