Hello Parents!

Rehearsals are now in full swing and we are looking forward to seeing thought-provoking and artistic plays come to life! In order for our awesome actors to shine, we need a hand on some behind-the-scenes details including: set construction, costume making, make-up, dinner for dress rehearsals/bake sale for show dates, and box office assistants.

Here is a little bit about each area so you can choose what is right for your preferences and schedule:

  • Set Construction Crew: We need volunteers to offer an hour or more on Sundays during rehearsal time to build the sets for each show. Tasks may include: hauling building supplies, using hand or power tools, and/or helping with the design and execution of the set. Also, if you are skilled in artistic painting, this would be a good spot for you!
  • Costume Crew: Volunteers for this crew can expect to sew, glue, cut, and measure! Preferably not in that order. If you are an able or skilled sewer, this would be a good spot for you! If you own a sewing machine but cannot join this crew, please consider temporarily loaning it to the members of this crew. Costume construction time will take place on Sundays during rehearsal time.
  • Makeup Crew: Volunteers for this crew may be asked to keep an eye out for theatrical makeup on sale- especially after Halloween (we will show you the design plan for specific colors), spend a few hours doing practice runs with makeup during dress rehearsals, and/or arriving at the call time before shows to help prep actors by assisting them with makeup application. Meeting date & times- TBD.
  • Dinner/Bake Sale Crew: Dress rehearsals (beginning 12/1) are held from 6-9 PM, better known as prime dining hours. We are asking for a group to come together to help organize a potluck dinner, snacks, drinks and/or pick up pre-ordered items for each evening's rehearsal. This will allow us to hold a dinner break in-house during rehearsal, breaking up a long few hours and adding nutritious fun to the evening. We are also asking this group to help organize a bake sale. The bake sale will take place before and after each show and funds will go directly into covering expenses for each show and supplies for the cast party.
  • Box Office Assistants: We would love to gather a group of parents to help assist the box office by sorting ticket orders, staying for 30 minute blocks during dress rehearsals to take ticket orders, and coming 30 minutes before one or more of the performances to greet and seat audience members. You may also be asked to sell bake sale items before or after shows. Information will be given via email for this group.

Please note: there are two meeting times for each area. This is for your convenience only- identical information will be given at each meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting but want to join a particular crew, please let us know

If you are able to volunteer your time and prefer one area of work over another, please submit the form with your name, child's name, preferred crew, if you will be able to attend the meeting, and availability on Sundays and show dates.

If you are unable to volunteer because of scheduling conflicts but would still like to help with the productions,we will be posting a list of items needed for each crew shortly. These items will help each production run smoothly. More information to come!
