Thank you for supporting the Arts!

Text Box: March, 2010

Dear PCAC Supporter,
It is time for our Annual Fundraiser.  Aside from our membership drives, this is the only time when the Plymouth Community Arts Council (PCAC) actively solicits our patrons for financial support.  Your contributions allow us to continue to offer drop-in art and pottery classes for youth and adults, art camps and classes to over 200 children, art badges for scouts, a children’s theater program – Plymouth Uptown Players (PUPS) with over 100 participants, and an Art Volunteer Program (“Art Moms”) benefitting thousands of Plymouth-Canton elementary school children.  In downtown Plymouth, PCAC offers mid-day musical performances to over 20,000 fans each summer Wednesday through our 26-year-old Music in the Park program as well as the Saturdays @ The Penn family variety series.  We are seeking donations during this fundraiser to continue providing these art experiences and exposures to our community.

We are proud of the strides PCAC has made over the past few years; bringing more community groups into our facility, reviving monthly art exhibits and offering more art programming for all ages. Financially, we have increased our efficiency so that more of our funds are used for what we are all about: the arts.

Our 40th anniversary celebration and fundraiser in 2009 was a great success. This year, we will again host a gala event at our facility to cap off our annual fundraising effort.  On May 7th, 2010 the PCAC will present “A Taste of the Arts” beginning at 7:00 pm.  Some of the offerings on the “arts menu” include:

Drawing and painting demonstrations and mini lessons
Pottery “hands on” exhibition by instructor Jeff Burda
AVP portfolios and culture boxes display
A video excerpt of our Plymouth Uptown Players’ April production
Our ‘Music in Art’ exhibit celebrating our one-year office collaboration with the PSO
Tours of our newly renovated ARTSCO meeting house and studios next door
Music from various PCAC affiliated artists
Cocktails & Hors d’oeuvres
Desserts from the P-CEP Culinary Program.

Last year we reached our goal to raise $20,000 for PCAC programs.  This year we hope to exceed that goal, so that we many continue to nurture art programming in our community. Please return the enclosed, self-addressed envelope with your tax-deductible contribution to our Annual Fundraiser as well as your intentions for joining us on May 7th to sample “A Taste of the Arts”.  We look forward to seeing you there!
